Collin began his journey in playwriting under the direction of Greg Moss (punkplay, Indian Summer) where his first full scripts came to life on the page.
After graduating with his BA in Theatre from UNM in 2023, Collin packed his bags and moved out to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams.
After a year of gig work in the city, Collin was accepted into USC’s MFA in Dramatic Writing program, one of two students selected and granted a full ride scholarship.
Collin’s most recent piece of work, Charlie’s, WeHo was completed in the MFA program, and 3 scripts are currently under construction with an estimated draft(s) by Summer 2025
Charlie’s, WeHo
Charlie’s, WeHo is the first script written by Collin in the MFA in Dramatic Writing program, under the direction of Velina Hasu-Houston (Tea, Kokoro (True Heart)).
The play follows Leo, a gay man new to Los Aneles after being kicked out of his home for his sexual identity. He throws himself in the deep end as he goes and explores the neighborhood of West Hollywood (WeHo), notorious for it’s gay bars and nightlife.
Leo’s journey explores themes such as internalized homophobia, chosen family, queer sexuality and performative queerness.
Volatile Love
Volatile love is a story about the modern queer experience through the eyes of a college freshman, who is coming to terms with himself. Volatile Love follows Manuel, his friend Joey, and his girlfriend Angelica (Angie) as Manuel learns more and more about who he is, and who he wants to become.
Volatile love is a combination of personal experiences, common experiences in the queer community, as well as a heavy amount of inspiration from the story of Matthew Shepard.
Volatile Love has had one weekend of readings in April of 2022 during which the reading raised over $100 to donate to the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

Love in Threes: An Autobiographical Monologue
Love in Threes is a piece very near and dear to my heart. Love in Threes takes the audience on a journey through my love life directly after high school and into college.
What I think makes this piece so interesting is that the relationships I was writing about were changing as I was writing, as well as reminiscing on the past.
Love in Threes is a monologue about what you think love is as a young queer person, and the journey of self love and discovery I went on in order to emerge stronger after all of these relationships.
